This striking vintage top dates to the late 1960s or perhaps early 1970s. It’s by famed designer Tina Leser, although this Bohemian style was a departure from her iconic 50s work. This look is more “Hippie with a trust fund”, with its body conscious fit, and veeneck placket accented with shimmering silver trim. The bling is repeated in a wider band at the cuffs, which flare subtly.

FABRIC/COLORS: The fabric is a gently ribbed knit with a silky feel. Based on a fiber burn test, I think it is probably a rayon/acrylic blend. The color is a rich dark blue. The trim is also a knit – it seems to be a border print fabric used more as a braid. The woven pattern is boldly graphic with a hint of middle eastern motifs, done in gleaming silver lurex against a matching navy blue background.
